Cruz's pick of Fiorina works, and he defeats Trump for the GOP nomination.  Hillary Clinton picks Wendy Davis to be her running mate, and both campaigns don't stop talking about Planned Parenthood for the entire campaign.  Who wins?

Cruz won the vast majority of the South outside of Appalachia and the Deep South. If he won at a contested convention, though, Trump supporters stay home in large numbers in Georgia/North Carolina/Indiana/Virginia/West Virginia.

WV will vote for whoever will keep the coal industry on life support, Clinton will kill it and Cruz is their best hope. There will be reduced turnout, enough to push Cruz to below 60% in WV, but he will win it in this scenario no prob.

Do you not think Cruz would alienate Romney/Manchin/Tomblin 2012/Capito 2014/Trump/Sanders 2016 "independents"?
