I think Donald Trump's only real association with Hispanics IN his life has been the rear view of his maids bent over.

Trump's taco bowl isn't even cringeworthy, I'm over most of his crap. This is comparable to when you see a little kid act out in public. His parents are upset and embarrassed and I just think it's funny/cute because it's such an elementary act.

I'm not sure I accept the premise that Trump's tweet intended to pander to Hispanics:

And he was right. He is more Latino than most people classified as "Hispanic" in the US.

Jeb's Guac was no pander. I got the sense he was truly passionate about his guacamole (certainly more passionate than he felt towards running for president)

Trump is what happens when you tell a person you're urinating on that it's raining.

Trump was pandering, but not to Latinos.  He was baiting people into virtue-signaling behavior that annoys his base, which largely thinks that this is a dumb thing to get offended by, and finds the ensuing "of course it's offensive -- everyone knows that!" reaction especially grating.  Trump knows what he's doing.  I wouldn't even put these two in the same category of pandering.

I also agree that Jeb is probably depressingly proud of his guacamole recipe.

I am not entirely convinced that Trump's taco bowl tweet was really a pander. Considering Trump's campaign to date, it read very tongue in cheek to me.

Expecting people to pay seventy-five dollars for a bowl is pretty cringeworthy imo

cringeworthy is a good word for it, but it's kind of hilarious as well.

I just believe saying "I love Hispanics" is not going to cut it.

It's just a temporary reassurance in his own mind after he was told he was polling pretty poor with that particular demographic.

Trump also got in a plug about Trump Tower.  He's the king of "brand messaging".  Perhaps this is how he's pulled off what he's done so far.

Which is why people need to stop with the pearl clutching in response to stuff like that and just give it the mockery it deserves.

Oh and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE DON'T LET ANYONE FROM THE DNC OR HILLARY'S CAMPAIGN MENTION "CULTURAL APPROPRIATION" ANY TIME IN THE CAMPAIGN.

One thing about trump that I didn't know was how well he is at media and being on camera. Yes, I know about the apprentice but seriously didn't know he was this skilled at it.

Instead of silly trump universites he should give media relations classes that would get a A++ rating from the BBB.
