Probably like 75%.  We've been trending Democrat for the past 20 years and will probably continue to do so as Republican olds die out and are replaced by Democrat youngs.

Trump won't experience much of a drop off with Asian Republicans as he might with, like, Hispanic Republicans, though.  Asian Republicans LOVE Trump.

At least 75%. Somehow I don't think most Asians "want deal" with Trump.

It's an interesting question. The Asian vote has tracked pretty closely with the Latino vote in recent presidential elections. Most assume Latino vote will be hugely pro Clinton, will Asians follow suit? On one hand Trump hasn't called Asians 'rapists' and the wall is something more aimed at immigrants from Mexico and Latin America. On the other hand, talk of a deportation force will impact Asian families as much if not more than Latino families as Asians have been growing faster as a group so are more likely to have recent immigrants (who overstayed visas) in their extended families. And of course a lot of Muslim immigrant are categorized as Asian, and they are certainly not going to go for Trump.

So with all of that, I would guess that Clinton would do better than Romney with Asians, leaving Trump to look to whites (and blacks) for any improvements.

Asians is a weird category. Muslim Asians won't like him but they probably didn't like Republicans much to begin with. Educated types might see some swing against him. It makes sense that upscale Asians might consider voting for a candidate like Romney but wouldn't like Trump. I could see some non-Muslim Asians maybe swing towards him though. The kind of Indians who liked Modi for example. That pro-rape presidential candidate who was doing well in the Phillippines also seemed pretty Trumpist.

As loath as I am to lump together such people as Koreans and Pakistanis, I recognize that they all have good cause to reject the irrationality of the Republican Party. The old anti-Communist cornerstone of Republican foreign policy has lost its appeal and relevance.

Yes, like I said, Asian Republicans LOVE Trump.  Appeals to law and order go a long way.  And as much as Trump has gone after Asian countries (like China and Japan), he hasn't explicitly gone after Asian Americans yet.  And most Asians have little love for Blacks or Latinos.

Now I don't expect this to translate into actual gains, but I don't think Trump will perform that much worse than Romney here.

How much of the total vote Asian Americans are supposed to account for ? And I guess there are different communities that are relevant in different states, which in turn might affect the way they vote. After all, there's "American" in Asian American.

Most likely between 70-80%. I can't see Trump playing well with Asians, East and South.

Probably around 4%, with the largest effects being in Hawaii, California, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, and Washington.

According to exits, 3% were Asian in 2012, but 5.6% of the US population is Asian. Like Latinos, they are under-represented in voting due to lower registration and turnout.

States with above avg Asian population are:
 Hawaii   57.4
 California   14.9
 Nevada   9
 New Jersey   9
 Washington   9
 New York   8.2
 Alaska   7.1
 Virginia   6.5
 Maryland   6.4
 Massachusetts   6

And the makeup of Asians in the US is...
Chinese   24%
Indian   20%
Filipino   18%
Vietnamese   11%
Korean   10%
Japanese   6%
Pakistani   3%
Cambodian   2%
Hmong   2%
Other      9%
(although that varies state by state)

That is my answer as well.  Part of it is the anti-immigrant rhetoric/policy, but Trump also does poorly among college-educated voters.  Asians have the highest proportion of college graduates of any race in the country.  I see nothing that would stop the trend we have seen over the past two decades.

1992 Asian vote:  George H.W. Bush 55%, Bill Clinton 31%
1996 Asian vote:  Bob Dole 48%, Bill Clinton 44%
2000 Asian vote:  Al Gore 55%, George W. Bush 41%
2004 Asian vote:  John Kerry 56%, George W. Bush 43%
2008 Asian vote:  Barack Obama 62%, John McCain 35%
2012 Asian vote:  Barack Obama 73%, Mitt Romney 26%

Asians of the western type (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Hmong, Laos, etc etc) are usually heavily Democrat anyway. I'd say around 80%.

Not to mention a huge reason Asians vote Democratic is because the GOP is seen as an anti-intellectual party. I don't think Trump will change that opinion.

a) Those are all East/SE Asians.

b) South Asians have traditionally been more Democratic than East Asians, especially East Asians who immigrated initially because of communism.

Regardless, I expect Hillary to get 75-80% of the Asian vote.
