Neither party has had a primary that was anything but a clean sweep of counties since 1992 except of course for the Democrats in 2012.

So it'll be neat to finally again have a competitive West Virginia primary not involving convicted felons.

Might be interesting to see the lowest margin that's led to a clean sweep.

Yes, but this clean sweep is actually different in that it invalidates all of the counties' bellwether statuses instead of continuing them.

How do you figure that?

True, though if that's our criteria 2008 already invalidated it. For these threads I have been going by bellwethers for the state winner, not the national winner. That would be an interesting project as well, though.

So, if I'm not mistaken, there are only ten anti-bellwether counties on the Democratic side:

• Boone
• Clay
• Gilmer
• Hardy
• Lincoln
• Logan
• Mingo
• Tucker
• Webster
• Wyoming

The last time the statewide winner lost some counties to a non-imprisoned candidate was 1984, when Walter Mondale (53.6%) won against Gary Hart (37.2%).

Might be interesting to see the lowest margin that's led to a clean sweep.

That seems to be the latest battle Sanders-Clinton (51.6% - 35.7%).

I meant in history amongst all states.

In this primary, Sanders +12 in RI is the winner.

That doesn't actually make much sense, as a clean sweep in Delaware is much easier to fulfill than in Texas, where the strange inhabitants of Loving County could disturb a statewide 99% win.

The trivial answer to your question would be Alaska, of course.
