Can anybody explain why Hillary won the fake primary by such a big margin?
I'm not even surprised she "won", but never would I have thought of such a yuge margin, considering this was a modified-open primary.

She won by 6 points, not by a huge margin. She won it because the people most likely to vote in a contest that doesn't matter (i.e. olds) are mostly for Clinton, and the fact that Sanders put no effort into the state. Also, a caucus is obviously not a good barometer of what a state truly thinks.

Also, this was an open primary? Do you have a source for that?

For what it's worth, turnout was 20k less than in 2008's beauty contest, and 7k less than the 2012 Democratic Senate primary. Buuut I don't completely buy that as the reason why Clinton won - while a bit on the low side, turnout was about average for a Nebraska primary, and turnout was more than double that of the caucus a couple of months ago.

I think a better way to look at this is how much better Sanders performs in caucuses compared to primaries. Had Iowa been a primary, for example, she probably would've had a margin of victory there comparable to that of the Nebraska primary.

Dave said it, and Dave is always right.
Plus, according to the AP result page all the other contests were open. Do you think the polling stations deliver separate ballots for the fake primary?

The electorate probably skews very old for random elections where there's no massive Bernie GOTV.

Neither is a fake primary.

I'm much more inclined to believe that caucuses are the fake elections, hence why discussions are being had about ending them.

Well, if the primary-gap was anything like it was in 2008, it wouldn't be surprising.

Category 1: Simultaneous primary and caucus.
Texas Caucus: Obama +12.5
Texas Primary: Clinton +3.5
16 point change in margin.

Category 2: Similar States:
Washington Caucus: Obama +36.4
Oregon Primary: Obama +18.4
18 point change

North Dakota Caucus: Obama +24.6
South Dakota Primary: Clinton +10.7
35.3 point change

Idaho Caucus: Obama +62.3
Utah Primary: Obama +17.7
44.6 point change (note that Idaho and Utah voted identically in 2016)

Category 3: Caucus + beauty contest primary.
Washington Caucus: Obama +36.4
Washington Primary: Obama +5.5
30.9 point change

Idaho Caucus: Obama +62.3
Idaho Primary: Obama +18.4
43.9 change

Nebraska Caucus: Obama +35.4
Nebraska Primary: Obama +2.8
32.6 point change

Average change in 'Non beauty contest' comparisons: 28.5 points
Average change in 'beauty contest' comparisons: 35.8 points
Average change in all comparisons: 31.6 points

Which congressional districts did Hillary won in the FAKENE primary?
There is a  button, which unfortunately doesn't work.
It looks like she won all, right?

By the way, the caucus map seems to look much better for her than the fake primary map, doesn't it?

Sanders seems to have won the Nebraska caucus by only winning the three big counties big: Douglas, Lancaster and Sarpy.

And I just realized he managed to switch the impressive Cherry County. How did he manage to do that? lol

Neither of them are a very accurate representation of what the state wants. The caucus was a caucus, and the primary was nonbinding and therefore it's unfair to expect people to show up.

Atlas. Dave has NE-03 as 50.35% Sanders - 49.65% Clinton. NE-01 and NE-02 were 53.19% Clinton and 56.37% Clinton, respectively.

If there was a rash of fake primaries, (sane) people would be way more outraged about ending them.  There's only like, 5, and most of them are Republican

I'm more outraged about Arizona's, where they use the excuse of "It's not a primary! It's a presidential nomination event!" or something stupid like that to get around the fact that the state normally has open primaries.

I also hate caucuses, before someone accuses me of being a partisan Bernie bro.
