Redid the options as I thought they were terrible.

Can still remain anonymous.

My old tutoring job through my college paid me bare minimum at $8.05, I'm currently making $9.25 from my host job.

Here in Austria we are paid on a monthly basis, not hourly or yearly.

I earn about 2.100$ a month (net income, all taxes/social security/pension/unemployment insurance already paid).

This wage is paid 14x a year.

I usually work between 32 and 43 hours each week (I have 38.5 in my contract).

So, I earn about 15.9$ (net) or about 21.5$ (gross) per hour, using the 38.5 hour average.

Pretty good wage considering I only pay some 550$ for my apartment.

Because the apartment is on the upper floor of my uncle's house.

With around 100 square meters, I'd have to pay ca. double the price for it on the regular market or triple the price in Salzburg City for example.

I'm not employed now, but I'm returning back to my old jobs in the Bay Area this month (even with the ridiculously good rent and insurance, no job means no staying in Lynchburg) which will cumulatively give me $26/hr, and that's without applying for freelance gigs.

Wow, this is really showing cost-of-living differences!  I make $20 per hour right now.  Considering it's my first post-college job and I'm working in my major at a company that promotes employees a lot, I'm extremely happy!

Running it through a website, I'd make almost $27 per hour in NYC, haha.  Shows you how flawed some median income by state statistics are.

Was $55, but later took $35 with a much better work/life balance.

Mine is salary, but it works out to about $26/hour plus a hefty bonus and nearly a month of paid time off.

$18.50, usually with loading though as I mostly work weekends. Not sure what that is in American dollars.

Is that so strange? I pay $525/mo for a 1-bedroom apartment in the state capital.

To the OP, I'm paid salary plus per diem. When I have been paid hourly for work on redistricting I bill well over the minimum. Smiley

It strikes me as odd considering where he lives - a somewhat touristy (or at least hot vacation) spot in Europe, rural as it may be. I'm not particularly shocked you can get that in Springfield...but he confirmed my suspicions that the market price is much, much more.

Was at $8.75 during the school year, anywhere between 12 and 25 hours a week (Fitness Center student attendant). Moved to a job that's $10.00 an hour at 35 hours a week--just finished up my first week (Facility Operations general laborer). During the school year, I'll probably move back to the Fitness Center, but as a student supervisor at $9.50 an hour. I could probably keep my current job, but I'm not interested in doing actual labor between classes. I was in the running for an $11/40 internship, but got turned down, and I just applied for a "salaried" student trainee spot at the local Immigration & Customs Enforcement office. It'll probably be a year before I hear back. Believe me, I'm as disappointed as you about my inability to land a real person job.

$15/hr, but because it's a super small company I can only work like 8-15 hours a week. Trying to find more permanentish employment.
