What are the odds they do like, a Schwarzenegger and don't live there and instead mostly live in a TRUMP hotel?  I guess really low because of the whole secret service thing?

The Hay Adams and Willard Hotels are across the street and would be much more to The Donald's liking.

TRUMP already has security detail following him around. There's nothing in the constitution saying the president has to live in the white house; tradition is not law.

I think she'll be a very stylish First Lady. Probably in a Jackie Kennedy sort of way. They'll live there but travel to Mar-a-Lago alot like Obama and Clinton did Martha's Vineyard and Reagan and Bush had the Ranch.

Trump not wanting to live in the White House will be the least of the logistical issues of a Trump presidency.

He will be an absentee, do-nothing President, snow-jobbing the nation with regular press conferences surrounded by stacked American flags, all about how much he is "winning" and his administration is "really great."

He'll turn the White House into the Gold House. Won't live there until it's elegant enough.

Meanwhile, incompetent, crooked yes men will be mismanaging every department under the sun (and doubtless lots of executive appointee positions will go unfilled, because filling them even half-decently is work). And that's the good scenario for a Trump presidency.

The bad one is that Trump really does try to make himself into Emperor Trump the 1st, and attempts to rule by decree and violence.

There are many ways to resolve their "grief":

I think the good scenario is Trump is forced to dole out high-level posts in his administration to competent Republicans in order to get the GOP backing he needs to win the Presidency.

The bad scenario is Trump figuring out how to win while short-circuiting the party establishment.

Dear God, when did the GOP establishment become the GOOD guys?

You're making the assumption he'll live in the White House.

1600 Penn is a more prestigious address than anything you'll find in the UES or Midtown. He'll be just fine. Melania will just be happy to be living on this side of a wall.

Which should make it even more obvious that I was joking.

Majorie Merriweather Post originally donated Mar-a-Lago to the government to be used as a presidential retreat so Trump would merely be carrying out her legacy.

They will have to live in the White House because it has all necessary government communications. Trump can rebuild it to add a floor but it is very unlikely as he will have  no time and this is a historic building. Their mode of life will change drastically and nobody (including themselves)  knows how it will affect them.

Yeah. Trump and his Mrs. will have to slum it a while in public housing. And the secret service will always be worrying about providing good protection, so I think he'd spend a good chunk of time at the White House. That said, as others have mentioned, there's nothing that requires him to be there, and I imagine he'd still spend a lot of time at his properties.

TRUMP will use taxpayer dollars to completely remodel the White House.

It'll be made out of gold.

The new source of water for the fountain on the North Lawn outside of the White House will be Hillary's tears.

It will be called the TRUMP House.
