The last 48 hours ensured the conservative media establishment, long the preserve of neoconservative and neoliberal media, will be outright hostile to this effort, branding it from the beginning as ceding the White House to Hillary and the Supreme Court for a generation. The Never Trump movement is always a dollar short and a day late. During the primaries they needed to pick one of Kasich or Rubio before Super Tuesday and go all in, but instead they really didn't get their act together until Wisconsin and so by then they reluctantly backed Cruz.  I think the same thing will happen this time, they will try to find a 3rd party candidate but in the end they wont and will reluctantly back Gary Johnson. But like the Never Trumpers during the primary, it will be disorganized, underfunded and in general, pointless.
