It kind of makes sense that Trump could preform very well in Northeastern suburbs. Afterall unlike previous GOP nominees he really doesn't care about social issues and I imgaine his anti-trade rhetoric would have appeal in the Philly burbs.

He doesn't care about social issues but he promises to appoint judges to the Supreme Court who do.

I'm not all that familiar with Pennsylvania, but if it's like most other areas, the suburbs are likely pro free trade.  Some of the residents of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and their exurbs are likely anti free trade.

Trump may gain some 'blue collar' workers who have traditionally voted Democratic based on economic issues, but he'll likely trade off some 'white collar' workers who have traditionally voted Republican.

There is a long way to go before this settles down, and just because Trump won the Primaries easier than expected and received some 11 million votes before his last opponents suspended their campaign doesn't mean he can do so in the general election where he'll have to receive 65-70 million votes.

Yeah, pretty much the only impact the president has on social issues is the Supreme Court. And even though that's brought up every cycle, in this cycle it actually is guaranteed to make a difference. You could have a non-social conservative doing more for social conservatives, than actual social conservatives have done for themselves in 20 years.

Besides blue collar workers people seem to forget that less conservative indivduals and Northeastern suburbanites were one of Trump's biggest demographics in the primary.

So I wouldn't necessarily say so as alot of things have yet to play out. Esp. with with someone as unpredictable as Donald Trump.

People don't care about what candidates promise to do, they care about how they promise to do it. Trump doesn't talk like he cares about social issues, so people are not bothered by it, even if he will appoint more right wing judges. The only "social" issue Trump talks about like a "social conservative" is immigration, on which lots of whites agree with him.

Accept Trump hasn't said how he'd do anything.  Since there has never been an obviously ridiculously candidate like Trump nominated as a major party candidate before, we don't know how people in aggregate will end up judging him.

However,  the idea that a pro-choice voter would support Trump because he doesn't talk about social issues but has promised (and named) people who he would appoint to the Supreme Court who are presumably all anti-abortion seems ridiculous to me.

I personally think the lyric of Billy Bragg from Levi Stubbs' Tears is how this will play out "When the world falls apart, some things stay in place."
