I wouldn't call it racist, it is a very divisive concept though. Not really something that a "great uniter" would ever think of doing.

Liberals in America divide people up by race in every aspect of life they can control. It's one of the defining traits of American progressivism, so Im not suprised that Trump would do the same.

The problem for Trump I see regarding this is that it can (and most likely will be) used to further erode his standing among African Americans - Not that he's doing particularly well with them anyway, but this could help prevent him from making any notable ground.

It's funny, most of the time, candidates don't give their opponent's so much blatantly obvious attack material like this, yet Trump has given Hillary/Democrats made-for-attack-ad video clips/quotes/etc for almost every major demographic. Even Iowa for christs sakes - A barrage of ads non-stop for months in Iowa replaying him saying "How stupid are the people of Iowa?" isn't going to help him in November, lol. Same goes for things like this.
