Basically just like the Tim Kaine thread. Any guesses as to who John Kasich would appoint? My guess is Pat Tiberi, the guy who succeeded Kasich in Congress. It's no secret that he wants a promotion to the Senate, and I believe before he was elected to Congress he served as an aide to Kasich. What do you all think?

Of course, I think Kaine is more likely to be picked, but I'd like to see what you all think.

I agree with you on Tiberi, I think that's who Kasich would appoint in that case. I also agree that Kaine is more likely to be selected, I think Brown would be higher on the list of VP choices if Ohio had a Democratic governor and could appoint a democrat to the seat.

Tiberi would certainly make sense. Stivers seems out of the running, since he's gunning for NRCC chairman. Might make sense to get out ahead of the 2018 Gubernatorial fight and appoint DeWine to his old seat so there isn't well-contested three-way primary.

Not happening, so it's a moot point.

Maybe he would resign.

If not, I think he'd pick Mary Taylor or Pat Tiberi.

It's clearly a hypothetical, just play along. There are VP selection threads for Kaine and others.
