No other options. If you think he'll do 0.01% better or worse amongst whites than Romney, vote for that.

Better because white men will swing farther towards him than white women will away.

Worse. More people who voted for Romney abstain or defect than Trump gains from previous non-voters.

I think he'll do about the same. But since I'm forced to choose, I'll say a point worse.

about the same maybe a bit better becuz whites in minnesota/wisconsin and my state will swing HARD against Trump but he will do MUCH better with reagan democrat whites in states like maryland, delaware, pennsylvania, rhode island, and new jersey. i think illinois will be a swing state this time.

His messages are so heavily coded to evoke white supremacy that I'm going with better.

This is the million dollar question.  Because of demographic shifts, Trump will have to do significantly better to have a chance.

I voted no because of women.

I think worse. I can't see Hillary getting less than 40 percent of the total white vote.

Trump is not drawing from non-voters. He's drawing from crossover Dems - who won't be there in the General.

Worse, I would expect Trump will get roughly 53%-55% with  whites overall, loosing college educated but winning non-college educated.

Nate Silver had an article about this - almost all of Trump's support voted in 2008 and 2012.

Much worse. I just don't see many white suburban women or college educated voters going over to Trump. They'll hold their nose and go for Hillary.

Worse.  He will do as well or perhaps even slightly better than Romney among white men, but it won't make up for what will be a limp, low-energy performance with white women.

Well, Romney lost by 4 points, while doing pretty poorly with minorities. I think Trump, on average, loses by a couple points more. It'd take quite a bit for all these further erosions to be concentrated among minorities, so I think he probably does a little bit worse among whites.

But the error bars are huge. If Trump loses by double digits, of course he's doing worse, and if he wins, of course he's doing better.

It's an open seat election for crying out loud. Plus, some of us intentionally stayed on the sidelines last cycle because we wanted nothing to do with the grandfather of Obamacare a/k/a Romney.
