Of course it comes off as no surprising feat that most people who self-described as Republicans are big fans of country music. Same with regard to hip-hop and the Democratic base. What will make BRTD furious is that most heavy metal fans tend to be more uncommitted or are independent in their voting habits. Hope that clears off the stereotype of his that all metalheads are bunch of racists-misogynist-facists who are threat to society.

Yeah, I like rock/alternative/metal and obviously I'm very independent.

Of those lists, I think the artists on the "independents" list was by far the best.

The Democrat list is just so dire with the exception of Bob Marley. A bunch of black singers acting white and white singers acting black. (I realize this may get me put into the Steve McQueen Theatre, but it's true, so I don't care) The Republican list is pretty lame too... country is my favorite genre but George Strait, Blake Shelton and Elvis are the only singers I regularly listen to on that list. (prog rock is not my cup of tea, but I respect Pink Floyd) Even Blake Shelton is getting awfully close to bro-country these days... The Indy list is probably the best simply because of the Stones.

OK, I'm making an exception for Marley.

Agreed, and in the other two lists the best artists were the ones at at bottom (Pink Floyd, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley).

It seems my music tastes fit most into the independent list by default.

I mean the democratic list was horrible, apart from Katy Perry and Bob Marley. I like the independent, and to a lesser extent the republican list way more.

I like techno, house, rock ballads, Julian Perretta, Girls Aloud,...

Slightly dislike most on the Rep list, quite dislike those on the Dem list, and neutral on the Ind list.

Re: Pink Floyd in 9th on the list; likely a combination of Baby Boomers-turned-GOPers and then, of course, their children who were raised on the music. That it is Pink Floyd and not some other classic rock band is unsurprising. That said, for me, it was The Doors.

EDIT: I haven't really looked in-depth, but I'll assume the rest of the GOP list is downright awful. I'll take the Independents over either of these posers, though.

Are you literally joking? I can name songs from only 2 people on the Democratic list. I'm surprised only one trash artist made it (e: for Pubbies). I consider it progress that the 'New Country' fans ain't joining my party.

Country and hip hop are both objectively horrible. Looks like my new avatar is the right color.

I would think that the fanbase for all forms of music would be liberal, except for country.  Certainly most artists seem to be liberals, and even country (the most conservative) seems to have a pretty even split.

I hate country. Where I lived most of my life we basically only had 60s - 80s rock and 90s - present hip hop on the radio, so that's mostly what I listen to. I'm also partial to weird stuff like sitar music, medieval music, bagpipe music, classical music and the ril hickish kind of bluegrass music. Basically anything that isn't country or Mongolian throat singing. Profile that.

What percentage does Johnson need to get in the polls for the Libertarian Party to be included in silly little lists like this?
