Green Avatars that seem to largely prefer one party over the other.

You know the ones.

Having very recently joined the ranks of green avatars that strongly prefer one party over the other, I guess I have to vote FP.

Yeah, I was a green avatar for a while and it was still pretty clear who I was hackish for.

FP, I suppose.

It's good. That way, you can already tell which posters are trash.

That depends. I mean, it's a bit unreasonable to assume that they shouldn't have even the slightest preference. Some, however, are even more partisan than most red or blue avatars, and then you have to wonder why they have a green avatar in the first place.

You see, there's this belief among some people that claiming to be an 'independent' makes you look smarter. Why else do you think that Jfern has a green avatar?

A green avatar precludes one from "hacking", prude.

Some people are simply more committed to ideology than party.  Others might differ from party orthodoxy on one or a handful of issues that are important enough that cause a person to feel displaced (say, abortion).  And then you also get your odd-ball cases like sjkqw and Hagrid who identify with a certain label more out of feeling than ideological conviction.

I won't get much into why I switched from D to I, though I will say my decision was perhaps more slightly based on cultural factors.  The state I'm actually registered in (NC) has modified open primaries, too, so I don't really have anything to lose or gain from dropping the D label.

(Plus, if I have to vote against Hillary because she chooses someone like Hickenlooper as her veep, at least I'll have some guilt off my shoulders. Tongue )

In theory, I don't mind it at all.  However, it is really annoying in practice.  Landslide is the most obvious example.  Insists on keeping a green avatar while he sits in his mom's basement searching the web for a story about some Republican Dog Catcher who said something outrageous.

My green avatar is more applicable to Canadian politics than US. In the US I'd be a massive hack, if I haven't made that obvious before. FP

It's fine, LLR. The main reason I have an orange avatar is because all the other MA avatars have been used.

It's kind of interesting how Landslide Lyndon and jfern both pull off this same 'using an independent avatar to appear smarter' gimmick. Really, they aren't all that different, aside from the candidates they support.

I personally just like the look of a lime-green CT avatar over a red one. I was also registered as Unaffiliated until the primaries because I wanted to vote.

I think "mom's basement" was referring to the situation of Greece as a whole.

HP, if they are going to be overtly one sided with a candidate/party, they should just change their avatar to what ever party they support.
