If Teddy Roosevelt was alive he would say about the GOP establishment that it "has the backbone of a chocolate éclair".

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/05/22/politics/donald-trump-lindsey-graham-republican-party/index.html

Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of Donald Trump's fiercest critics, is now calling on Republicans to support their presumptive nominee.
Graham urged GOP donors at a private fundraiser Saturday in Florida to unite behind Trump's campaign and stressed the importance of keeping likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton from the White House. The fundraiser was hosted by former U.S. Ambassador to Portugal Al Hoffman, a former Republican National Committee finance chairman who also co-chaired Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential bid.

"He did say that we need to get behind him," Teresa Dailey, a prominent Florida Republican fundraiser who attended the private event, told CNN on Sunday.

Huh, really?  I didn't see that one coming.

I think he might be the first #NeverTrump politician to eventually come on board.

The Never Trump is melting, as I predicted.

One drop does not a meltdown make.

Even if it doesn't completely melt, I'm not sure it'll be a relevant or mobilized political force if nobody prominent assumes Bill Kristol's "Renegade" mantle over the next couple weeks.

Still, I could see Hillary attempting to exploit the higher-than-normal divisions in the GOP by putting out a similar ad as Johnson did in 1964.

Well, so much for the "#NEVERTRUMP politicians will never change their minds" meme. Expect Romney to eventually join Graham.

Not surprising that someone who was basically Never Cruz who then supported Cruz would support Trump.

The fix is in; please tell me that the whole psycho drama just passed wasn't just one big rope a dope to get the Democrats off base. The "never Trump" was just that, a parlour game to make Trump the more acceptable to the "anti establishment" crowd. It's amazing how the GOP has coalesced around Trump, miracles do happen! I feel sorry for Hillary.

Graham would be far more suitable as SecDef in a Clinton cabinet than a Trump cabinet. Secretary of the VA, maybe.

A lot of the #NeverTrump crowd has suddenly been hit with the reality that not supporting the ticket, at least in name, will end their careers in politics.  No one has been asked to love Trump, but politicians in the GOP are required to at least state that they will vote for the ticket.  A number of folks are seeing themselves blacklisted in the future for not supporting the Republican ticket, and they are trying to get back on board.  There were more folks who were Democrats for Nixon as party bolters than in any other campaign, but most of those folks were dead in the water, politically, after that.  They went nowhere as Democrats, and many were not real welcome in the GOP if they chose to switch.

"He did say that we need to get behind him," Teresa Dailey, a prominent Florida Republican fundraiser who attended the private event, told CNN on Sunday.

As far as I can tell, the only source indicating that he said this is Teresa Dailey (a Trump supporter who attended the event).  However, Graham says he didn’t say what Dailey suggests, and that in fact his position is unchanged: He supports neither Clinton nor Trump (this is reflected in the updated version of the story you quote from):
