What does he have to do in order to win the presidency?

Devote all his campaign efforts to organizing a paramilitary arm for his campaign of roving brownshirts to patrol the precincts of all the major heavily Democratic areas of all the major swing states, with the task of employing intimidation or violent force to prevent all women and minorities from voting.

Prove that he is capable of doing the job and find some way to at least partially repair his image with minorities. It's a tough task but not impossible. Also the trump is hitler thing has gotten so old it's such an ignorant thing to say.

It may only be ignorant for now. I have no clue how he'd do as president if our country was sorry enough to vote him in. I wouldn't be surprised if he was like him.

We must not forget about the hatred, racism, bigotry and xenophobia that is part of trump's campaign.
It was said best when during a rally against Little-Hands-Drumpf-Fuhrer, a protester was holding this sign .....

A misogynistic electorate that spits in the face of women who dare point out that institutional sexism still confronts women. It makes people feel uncomfortable, you see.

Have his general election opponent be someone with horrible favorable ratings who ran a deeply divisive campaign, and is under FBI investigation.

That's what he and his supporters want to do.

I'm starting to think that all he actually needs to do is:
-let Clinton keep attacking him for being a generic Republican, thus giving him respectability and credibility
-count on the stupidity of the American voting public
-not get caught with a dead girl or live boy
-wait for the economic crash and blame Clinton (never mind that he's the one saying crap that destabilizes the dollar)

Realistically and seriously, win back huge numbers of women and Hispanic voters.

A steep uphill climb.

- Push Hillary more to the left
- Hold his own in 1 of the 2 debates
- Put TPP on blast make it sound as if its NAFTA 2.0
- spend $$ in Ohio, PA and Mich
- Keep attacking Bills sexual misdeeds (it completely mutes any women issues for Trump)
- Don't Palin the Veep pick!

Simple.
Long-term Strategic:
1. Nuke Clinton's Foreign policy credentials (Especially in the FP Debate).
2. Spam the airwaves with bs scandals, both Clintons and his own.
3. Hammer Clinton on trade, Syrian Refugees/Immigration Enforcement and the server

Tactical:
1. Plan the RNC to maxmize productive use of the airtime (this is the one thing I have the most confidence in him achieving with his reality tv background). I would even name some cabinet picks like Rudy for Homeland Security, Duncan Hunter (the elder) for Defense etc.
2. Go tough, but sane in the First Debate
3. Hold lots of events in PA, OH, MI, FL and IA. (Detour occassionaly to VT, NY, MA for the headline).
4. Pick a Solid VP.

Nonstop national media coverage, all the time.  Keep being a man-bites-dog story, keep saying outrageous things, keep getting buzz in Blue Wall states without having to spend a single dime.  Force Clinton to spend her money and time there.  Then Trump goes to OH, FL, PA, blankets them with ads, and looks "presidential" where it counts.

Selecting a good vice presidential nominee, behaving in a good way and expanding his base. I wish Hillary could be doing better; Bernie Sanders is not taking the hint, that maybe 2016 isn't his year.
