His campaign sent a written request to SOS Grimes today asking for a recanvassing of the vote after the current totals have him down 1,924 votes. http://www.lanereport.com/63671/2016/05/bernie-sanders-requests-recanvass-of-kentucky-primary/

It makes no sense that he would do this after not asking for a recount in Missouri. He is probably just doing this because he wants to try to make the media keep taking his candidacy seriously so that he has a platform to promote issues, and that is easier if it looks like he is vigorously competing.

The longer the fight between him and the Hill continues, the more it helps TRUMP. And a larger number of Bernard's supporters will vote TRUMP in November.

To be fair, this isn't a recount. It's a recanvass. So basically, on Thursday morning, a group of people in every county will retabulate every vote cast the same way they were counted on the 17th. In this case, the votes will all be put through the same voting machines again. It's not like every vote will be recounted manually with a group of lawyers on each side calling shenanigans for every ballot counted.

I didn't know there was a difference between conducting a 'recount' vs. a 'recanvass'.

You learn something new every day....

Wouldn't he have to pay for it? With all of the $$$$ he has left, it shouldn't be a problem...

If the primary were winner take all, this would be sensible, but he'll only get one additional delegate if he wins.

Very unlikely anything changes. The GOP primary for governor last year had a recanvass and the 83 vote margin for Bevin remained unchanged.

No, the state pays for it.

As for ol' Bernie, sore losers are going to sore lose.

I am seriously starting to wonder if he actively prefers Trump to Clinton

He, probably, does.

For one delegate when he's hopelessly trailing? This is beyond insane

Clinton's margin of victory is outside of what would typically be flipped by a recount, but it is his right to request one. However, it seems like a costly waste of time when it will decide only 1 delegate.

We have pretty much no evidence to the contrary at this point, and a lot of indirect evidence that it may very well be the case. At least, by preponderance of evidence, I would say that Sanders does prefer Trump. It is on him to prove otherwise.

Within his rights. I'm not going to criticize Bernie for calling for a recount when it's pretty close.

Yeah, okay, whatever buddy, you've been spending too much time in this histrionic echo chamber.

Aside from him saying on the debate stage that he "vastly prefers the secretary to the republicans" a million times, here's a news article from a clinton hack site that provides no less than three separate links providing evidence that he does not support trump and in fact intends to campaign heavily against him in the fall:
