Former Governor Brian Sandoval wins the nomination with a combination of Kasich, Paul, Rubio, and Trump voters. He picks Dave Brat as his running mate to appeal to libertarians, independents, and the evangelical/Tea Party crossover crowd. Clinton sticks with Vice President Ron Wyden. Discuss with maps.

What would the economy be like at this point?
Unemployment rate: 6.3% to 6.8%
Inflation: 3.5% to 4.0%
National debt: $27,500,000,000,000(27.5 trillion dollars)

The budget continues to have an increase of acceleration of debt consistent with the Obama Presidency, despite the attempts by Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Durbin.

Hold on, didn't Reid and Durbin endorse Chuck Schumer for Dem Leader?

EDIT: Probably the same map TNVolunteer gave.

To answer your question, Durbin was elected in 2019 after Schumer resigned as Leader after realizing that Tester would probably challenge him otherwise.

New 2017 Senators:
Katie McGinty
Maggie Hassan
Ann Kirkpatrick
Russ Feingold
Patrick Murphy
Deborah Ross
Jason Kander
Baron Hill
Catherine Cortez Masto
Chris Van Hollen
Loretta Sanchez

That left the Democrats with 54 Senators. However, in 2018, the Democrats lost VA to Barbara Comstock, ND to Drew Wrigley, MN to Erik Paulsen, and OH to John Kasich. Governor Christie Vilsack managed to appoint Sally Pederson after Grassley's death in early 2020.
