Meanwhile, #BernieTrumpDebate was trending at the top on Twitter for a few hours this morning and all the major news networks are fighting for the rights to broadcast it.

I'm sure they do. It's hard these days to find a good comedy.

After living in obscurity for so long, it seems that Bernie has become enamored by stardom.

Trump just confirmed that he still wants to do it, with the charity stipulation.

Well, since Trump has a history of reneging on his charity events, Bernie would be a dope to fall for that one.

Sanders hasn't raised a dime for the Democratic party and now he'll raise 5-10 millions just to have the chance to debate TRUMP?
Yeah, sure...

Yeah, sure...

He's started raising money for downballot races.

Also, this money would go to charity, so I don't see what the objection is.

Bernie is out of his league with Trumpdedump, but Bernie has stars in his eyes and is enjoying being in the spotlight now. I'd never watch that debate, however. Absolutely no interest.

Of course you would watch it. So would everyone here. But we won't because Trump won't let it happen.

Exactly how is he out of the league of a man who has an incredibly shallow grasp of policy, and can't really do anything other than utter his usual stump speech talking points, or resort to name-calling when he's backed into a corner?

No I really have no interest in anything Bernie does, he needs to go and let Hillary have the stage. And Trump's mug is plastered everywhere to infinity so it's hard not to read stuff about him. Trump is playing Bernie, I agree.

What Trump lacks in policy he makes up for in good television. It doesn't really matter if he beats Bernie or not - he just needs to launch attacks on Clinton to an attentive audience. That's all this is about.

Because Trump is devious and dirty and he cheats. He'd make toast out of Bernie.

Are you talking about Trump or Bernie? That could easily describe either.

I don't even think Sanders realizes how badly Trump is playing him for a fool. Remember, never negotiate from weakness and in this scenario, Trump holds all the cards

Bernie could commit suicide and Atlas would still lambast "the senile old man" for taking the spotlight away from Hillary.

be glad you're not on a.a.d.

Funny, because all of the Shills on AAD are in favor of the debate.

Cowardly Donny names an intentionally exorbitant sum that the networks will never pay because it allows him to look smug and cocky while evading getting called out on the national stage for his vacuousness.  Unfortunately many will fall for this.

Even if someone comes up with the money, Trump will still chicken out.

If you gave someone a two hour monologue to attack Trump they would have to go over the time slot if they were to fit in everything Trump could be attacked on.

Donald Trump supposedly 'raised money for vets' to dodge a debate in January.  Remember how that turned out?

If it was Bernie who did that the money would've been handed over promptly.
