A lot of people are angry that they haven't had a real wage increase in 18 years, but that doesn't mean that they will turn to Trump as the solution.

Many will - disproportionately white men. Women and minorities will not.

What could (in theory) happen is that Trump could turn the GOP into a party of working class white males. And then after he loses in a landslide, someone else might come along and turn down the sexism, nativism, and racism, and broaden it into a "worker's party." That would be the interesting scenario. The Republicans could be competitive as an economically liberal, socially moderate-to-slightly-right party, against the Democrats as a socially liberal, economically moderate-to-slightly-right party.

But it's not going to happen just with Trump.

He better keep getting billions in free media while he builds this workers' party, because he sure as hell won't be getting any campaign cash to run commercials.

That's why I don't believe this at all.  Would love to be shocked, though.

Those stealth Cruz delegates better be working in some strong pro-trade language in the platform.

That would be a more interesting and preferable direction for the party as opposed to now.

I just hope that the GOP doesn't become rabidly protectionist.

And people wonder why I get angry at so-called fiscal conservatives arguing for Trump.

Someone needs to bring out Jerry Brown's 1992 scathing critique of Ross Perot.

No need to apologize. You are merely factual and descriptive.

Q: How do you know Trump is lying?
A: Trump is always lying.

If I had money for every time he lied, I might be as rich as he is.

I'm not a billionaire. So I don't have physical wealth. I might, however, have greater moral wealth, which is unfortunately nothing to boast about.

Trump may not be a billionaire either.  Could be nothing but a series of shell companies.

In Austria last Sunday about 86% of blue collar workers voted for the "right wing" candidate Hofer against the "left-wing" candidate Van Der Bellen.  In some European countries the perceived more nationalist, pro-low or no immigration parties are becoming the manual workers party.

This is just the restauration of the pre-Mussolini status quo.

OK, I'm like sure this is 1896 2.0 now.

What puzzles me is that Trump is still tapping Steve Moore/Larry Kudlow for his tax plan.  It seems out-of-character for him, based on the persona he's trying to cultivate.  Otherwise, yeah, you might be right.

Just because he hasn't been wrong on some things, he's still full of crap and dangerously unqualified.
