I feel like DWPerry was that one edgy kid in school who'd always throw paper ninja stars from the back of the classroom.

Or that annoying High School freshman who sold snacks at lunch in competition with the school to support his weed habit.

Darryl Perry has had an unusual campaign strategy.

1. Join Atlas Forum. Hit on girls and talk about doing naughty things to Ann Coulter. Declare Presidential candidacy here.
2. Call Abraham Lincoln a tyrant.
3. Post genitals online.
4. Propose eliminating the federal government entirely. Call the federal government a terrorist organization.
5. Commit a crime onstage.
6. ...?
7. PROFIT

Austin Petersen is Mr. Soundbite.  I'd like him to see protect gun rights even 100 years in the future (quote was for all time).

Perry and Feldman gave the only really neutral answers on the abortion question.

Ok, Judge Nap on the SCOTUS is something I support.  Need another good, solid strict-Constitutionalist on the panel.

Is it fair to call Johnson the "establishment" Libertarian candidate?

I guess, they didn't like the (driver's) licensing answer but I think there should be some stricter restrictions on driver's licenses or better training (maybe privatized).  It's more of an answer that the public would think makes sense.

Yes, which in this context is synonymous with the "not totally idiotic" candidate.

Yes. I guess I'm an 'establishment' libertarian since I support him.

My aunt just walked by the TV and asked if Perry was on meth.

He probably is.

We missed a good opportunity to label this thread "Atlas Shrugged".

Just got done watching the debate online as I was unable to watch it live.(http://www.c-span.org/video/?409916-1/libertarian-party-holds-presidential-debate) Johnson and Petersen seemed to do the best. Perry and Feldman had good moments but were not the winner. McAfee never really impressed me.

I think Johnson gets this, but after multiple ballots, and he might not get Weld.

If you like sound bite rah-rah answers, Petersen has those in spades.  Only thing keeping McAfee down I think is his respect for others on the stage.

Sometimes I wonder why the Libertarian Party isn't more popular. Then I see the audience boo Johnson for saying he'd sign the Civil Rights Act and then I remember.

The purists do hold the party back, but that's not why it isn't more popular.

It's one of the many reasons.

Like I said, the Libertarian Party needs to worry most about electability at this point. Then, once they become more reputable, that's when they can nominate the DWPERRY types.

Yeah, that's right. Balloting for president, followed by vice president will go from 9:45-12:00 EST and will be on CSPAN. Subsequently, they will elect the LNC chair.
