Really hope Johnson makes it out, and it looks like he will.

It was when he was governor.

Is it fair to call Johnson the "establishment" Libertarian candidate?

Yes. I guess I'm an 'establishment' libertarian since I support him.

Sometimes I wonder why the Libertarian Party isn't more popular. Then I see the audience boo Johnson for saying he'd sign the Civil Rights Act and then I remember.

The purists do hold the party back, but that's not why it isn't more popular.

We're seriously bickering about dividing the party? If Weld is the VP a maximum of 7 people will not vote for the Libertarian Party than would otherwise.

I'm flabbergasted that a man who wants to completely abolish the federal government won a state.

Really? This is the Libertarian Party.
I guess I'm not familiar enough with them. I didn't know there were that many people in the LP who felt that way.

Perry represents 7% of the party (and that's of the delegates, its certainly smaller with actual voters), its not a big faction.

Damn. Looks like it should be close between Weld and Sharpe. Advantage Weld.

Weld is a bit concerning for me. He's only a VP, but he said he had a good relationship with the Clintons, he's super low energy, doesn't want to go on offense on anything. It's pretty clear that this is an attempt of desperation, that he's really pretending to be a libertarian, and that Johnson is using him for the purpose of gaining a higher profile.

Johnson's pretty damn low-energy too and probably had a good relationship with the Clintons since he was governor during Bill's second term.

If the Libertarians go on offense they'll just irritate everyone.  What they need to do is let Hillary and Trump tear each other apart and promote themselves as a viable third option.

Johnson can at least make a speech where he goes off on how bad Trump/Clinton are, then go on about why he's better. I don't if Weld will do the same. You can't get more than 1% of the vote by just presenting yourself, you have to present yourself as comparatively better. In addition, Johnson at least was a fan of Ron Paul and not an establishment R like John Kasich (in 2016). This whole play reeks of opportunism.

I guess it could be worse. In 2008 the ticket was Barr/Root, Barr endorsed Gingrich in 2012 and Root endorses Trump now. What a joke.

Was it somebody relevant or just some random LNC-goer?

Candidate for Chairman of the Party. He dropped out after stripping.

And of course he was fat and neck-bearded. That's the kind of stereotype we need.

I just heard the panel on Meet the Press saying how Trump could be more comfortable in the libertarian party than the Republican Party and how he's "non-interventionist" on foreign policy. SMH

Just realized there will be more elected Republican politicians on the libertarian ticket than the Republican ticket.

That is weird, isn't it too late to do anything about it though? Is is possible that they all just talked to each other and agreed to support Weld? It seems many other states voted as blocs as well.

As I said earlier. No pro-life candidates makes JCL an angry bird

Are you still going to vote for Johnson?

That's probably what he intended to do. Make headlines.
