I'm surprised to see Perry above McAfee in the straw poll.

If he is/was in the Free State Project movement, that would make sense.

Perry really hasn't done anything besides post on the Internet. I'm surprised he's even been accepted as a legitimate candidate, let alone become one of Johnson's leading challengers.

I think Johnson needs to hit 50% of the delegates to win, so I can see perry and McAfee supporters giving there support to Petersen to stop johnson

Why would the most extreme libertarian candidates support somebody who's not even a libertarian?

And to think that I thought McAfee would easily get second.

Seriously. Now is not the time for ideological purity. Quite a lot of Libertarian ideas are already more or less unacceptable to the public in practice, if not in theory as well. If they ever want to have a chance at becoming real players even at the state level, they need to strike a compromise between Libertarian principles and concerns of electability. Or, they can be as pure as they wish and win zero elections. I'm sure there are a lot of smart people there - How can they not understand this?
You're nothing without principles. It's not worth sacrificing them to win elections. I don't think you'd necessarily need to sacrifice them to win elections.

You shouldn't be talking about principles when your political matrix scores are at (0, -6) and you're supporting Trump.

I feel like DWPerry was that one edgy kid in school who'd always throw paper ninja stars from the back of the classroom.

Like I said, the Libertarian Party needs to worry most about electability at this point. Then, once they become more reputable, that's when they can nominate the DWPERRY types.

In the last few minutes alone, people have whined about NOTA not being printed on the ballot by mistake, somebody screaming about how the Ohio delegation hijacked a truck to block the Michigan delegation, somebody playing a harmonica, and somebody asking whether they have to use the white notecards because '[they] like [theirs] better'.

FWIW, I don't think there was an OR delegation. I know that I didn't miss it.

Yeah, apparently there's some type of feud within the state party.

FWIW, McAfee endorsed Weiss and DWPERRY endorsed Coley. Sharpe is the de facto 'compromise pick'.

Feldman stuttered through his whole speech and acted more like he was anti-Weld than pro-Weld. I'm not sure what he was doing.

You can pinpoint the exact moment when the crowd turns on him.
