California radio interview, Bernie gets asked about veterans being fed cockroaches, breathing in black mold, and dying in waiting rooms at VA hospitals, responds with "well you must love wall street, which has absolutely destroyed this country, blah blah blah" and then his Rubiotron 2000 breaks and he starts talking about the $15/hr minimum wage.  The hosts try to extract an answer from him and he bites their hand off.

Guess we can add the VA to Latin America and breaking up the banks on the list of issues Bernie has refused to give substantive answers on in radio interviews.

Remember Bernie was chairman of the committee on veterans affairs from 2013-2015, this is really something he should know.

Sanders' response is valid. Instead of making the healthcare system stronger, the hosts of this program seemed to be in the nutcase-rightwinger mindset of abolishing government health programs all-together, and using their case-study examples to claim that providing healthcare to all is the wrong thing to do. Sanders responded with Wall Street because the alternative to the VA is a private, for-profit service: thereby turning patients into consumers and increasing the power of Big Pharma/Medical.

The bigger question was about the role of the federal government. The hosts were insinuating that private companies would be more efficient than the government while Sanders believes it is the job of the federal government to protect the people and rein in private juggernauts like Wall Street. Came across pretty clear to me as a standard liberal-vs-conservative match.

The hosts were making some bullsh**t right-wing nutcase argument. Bernie actually makes a case to people with very different views. Compare to Hillary who hasn't even had a formal press conference this year.

The hosts were making some bullsh**t right-wing nutcase argument. Bernie actually makes a case to people with very different views. Compare to Hillary who hasn't even had a formal press conference this year.

So says someone who uses bullsh*t right-wing nutcase arguments against Hillary Clinton.

So it's not okay for anyone to use BS RWNJ arguments against Bernie Sanders, but is okay when used against Hillary Clinton? Got it!

I've had Hillary supporters tell me that it's a right-wing argument to say that Hillary is a hawk. I guess every criticism of her must be right-wing.

Nice non sequitur there, but cool, can you share the direct quotes where I actually said any of those things?  Thanks!

No, some of your criticisms of her are policy-oriented, such as the above which are from the left. It's your support of all the right-wing faux scandals and smear tactis against her (Benghazi, EmailGate, etc.) and your cheerleading of Bill's infidelities from the 90s, basically all character attacks, against her that do nothing but validate the right-wing and Republican talking points.

You can't very well lash out at the right-wing nut job arguments against your candidate when you yourself are guilty of promulgating them against another candidate, both of whom are in the same "party." That's where your hypocrisy is exposed. The knife cuts both ways.

Did you guys even listen to the interview?  They started off talking about the Disney CEO's claim that he created more jobs than Sanders, and they gave Sanders a chance to respond to that.  He didn't answer but just said he was mayor once and they couldn't make much out of that, so they turned to the VA and TSA issues that have also been top headlines recently with Rob MacDonald and all.  Bernie was already very hostile so they only barely got their question out, which was why do you like government so much when the VA and TSA are so clueless?  Sanders immediately turned around and accused them of wanting to privatize everything and loving wall street.  They tried to have a conversation with him, he was rude and unnecessarily aggressive and kept building strawmen to attack instead of giving a direct answer.  It was just absurd and the hosts treated it as absurd so he lost his cool and left the interview abruptly.

They only asked two main questions and both were entirely fair and related to the top news stories of the day.  I guess that makes them "right-wing nutjobs."  By the way, John and Ken are extremely popular in California and very well-known as centrist Republicans; John endorsed Obama in 2008 and they are pro-choice and were against Prop 8, among other centrist or left-leaning positions.

Nowhere in any of what he said did he actually say anything of substance about the VA, despite the fact that he was the #1 politician responsible for VA issues for three years.  They teed up a ball for him and instead of hitting it he threw the bat at them.

These were literally right-wing arguments, and not just arguments that sometimes the right-wing makes too.

Can anyone enlighten us why ol' Bernie gave an interview to someone who apparently is a right-wing host?
Can we expect to see him next time talking to Hannity and Limbaugh?

DON'T FORGET THE 16 NEGATIVE STORIES THAT WASHINGTON POST RAN AGAINST BERNIE!!!!!!!!!!

Of course the guy at the receiving end of that comment would say that. I don't this can really get old. It's just a notification that once again, you are trying to change the topic to Hillary Clinton even when it has nothing to do with her. Don't you know there is a time and a place for various arguments? When you try to make everything about your one, singular obsession, you dilute both your argument's efficacy and your credibility.

Virginia, you should take a look at this thread. It's pretty hilarious Smiley
