For me, I kept getting results for Atlas in Google when searching for analysis/data on demographics and voting trends (specifically Virginia's ongoing red-to-blue realignment). Suffice to say, I was reading various threads from here for a couple months before joining.

I was googling something and ended up at what-if board. But I was lurking for months before registering.

I was looking for a primary map of polls. I found this. I registered about two weeks later.

I was randomly looking for Political Quizzes, and found the Political Quiz List thread.

Same here. I was looking for something related to alternate history and I found the what-if board, which was the sole thing I read in the forum for quite a while.

Looked for an interactive electoral calculator, found the evc. Checked out the forum, fell in love with the What-ifs, and here I am now.

Looking for a precinct map of Washington after the 2012 election. I lurked for about two years before actually joining as a member.

Was searching for information on Danish politics on Google, ended up at the International Elections board. I started coming back because of the extreme amount of information on that board, though it took a while before I registered.

I don't even remember. I've known about it for a very, very long time. I started regularly lurking a few weeks before the 2014 elections, and then I joined in early 2015 after trying hard to convince myself not to.

I want to say that I discovered the site around 2009, but I'm not sure. Probably through Google, although I also heard about it a lot on AH.com.

I was looking for a list of all the latest state polls in the 2004 presidential election, and found Atlas.  When I started exploring the site, I realized that there was a forum.

I had been using Atlas for at least 4 years off and on before I even clicked on the forum link.  I assume I found Atlas just googling, but don't remember.

Should've included a "can't remember" option. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's true for.

I found it somehow via Hash's welections blog, which I found when trying to google information about elections in some obscure country.

The last place I trolled bleeding hearts got blocked at work, so I went looking for something else.  I currently can only view the message board from work and can't post/vote/do anything so who knows...

It's been 12 years so I honestly can't remember, but it probably was search-related and had something to do with the 2004 election.
