If you tried to pull a DW Perry and run as a third-party candidate in one of the three not-total-joke-but-still-minor-party primaries, do you think you could do as well? What state would you win if you did?

Obviously not for me. Even if I could bamboozle enough people into letting me run for the Green Party nomination, I would only be able to win a couple of disenfranchised "historic greens" or "Nader greens" in closed primaries who will never vote for them in the general as a protest candidate.

I'd get five of my friends to join the Prohibition Party, which would be enough to establish a majority.

The only one I'd be even remotely qualified for is the Constitution Party, but as an immigrant, I'd have no hope.

Don't worry. After 2016 you'll have a chance of running for office in your birth country.

Nope, because I'm not batsh**t crazy. That pretty much disqualifies me entirely from at least GP/LP primaries.

maybe? I fit the bill ideologically for the libertarians but I have the profile of a turtle and the speaking skills of Gary Johnson (actually, I think I would be a little better than Johnson, which is really sad)

This, but I could probably get 5 or 6 votes in a Green primary. Or just one.

Anyone who follows the Perry plan can win a state in the Libertarian primary.

If that's the case, I have decided that I will seek the Green Party's nomination in 2036. So what's the deal with Abraham Lincoln?

Lincoln is a tyrant. Also, don't forget to talk about doing naughty things with Ann Coulter, look like a meth addict, stop brushing your teeth for the next 20 years, and make sure to upload nude pictures to your FetLife profile. That should cover it.

Bill Kreml won a state in the green party primary, if I were 22 years older I could too.

Technically not right now, as I'm 26.

I would have assumed it'd be a pipe dream, but after listening to Darryl Perry speak, I believe the bar is very, very low to win a small state in one of these primaries, as all but the top few candidates are totally insane and uncharismatic.

There's no question now I think if I put my mind to it I could win a state - I mean, barely anybody votes in these primaries, right - so it's just a matter of vigorously participating like Perry does.

Now actually getting elected to federal public office?  No way I could do that.  Too "low-energy."

Probably the LP if I attempted, but probably would get like 6% of the delegates.

Yes, probably a left wing of the libertarian party. I can be pretty charismatic, sometimes scarily so. My one-on-one people skills, or lack thereof, would probably ruin any supporter I talk to one on one.

I could win a Green nomination for congress/local candidate if I tried, but I could not win a national primary, nor would I want to. I would much prefer campaigning locally.

no I would have a better shot at winning the Republican Party then any of those

Green Party: LOL i have nothing in common with them

Constitution: No I am not a member of the far religious right

Libertarian: I dont support abolishing the federal reserve, retuning to gold standard, returning to pre 1913 regulation, or being an isolationist so i would lose

No. Too young (only 18) and opponents would make mincemeat of me. I would be too moderate for the Greens, too left-wing for Constitution (as well as being Muslim), and much too sane and statist for the Libertarians.

Not trying to sound overconfident, but I think I could win the Constitution Party nomination if I kept my actual positions on gay marriage to myself and just focused on trade, foreign policy, immigration, and blamed everything on "Zionist Bolsheviks."

At some hypothetical point in the future when I am old enough to be eligible and have actually made an effort to pursue the presidency, I could potentially see myself becoming the "LINO" candidate in the primaries, similar to Bob Barr, Wayne Allyn Root, Austin Petersen, etc.
