If Murkowski loses the primary, does she run another write-in? I think if she was forced to do that, she'd officially run as an Independent just so she doesn't have to go throw with this process again.

She'd almost certainly caucus with R's, but I could see her taking the Angus King reasoning of "I can best serve Alaska by being in the majority party"

So, I'm assuming he's going after her from the right. Am I correct?

Yes. Murkowski is one of the least conservative Republicans in the Senate, and she was primaried in 2010.

Someday perhaps Arkansas state rep. Dan Sullivan might run for Senate as well.  At that point they could start up the Dan Sullivan Caucus.

Obligatory reminder that Alaska politics does not work like mainland politics and comfortable narratives about 'the right' and 'left' irt the GOP don't work very well.

Since there's no real Democrat running, might as well.

Why is Lisa Murkowski being primaried, aside from the perception that she's a moderate/liberal/RINO. Seems to me that after she won that write-in campaign in 2010, they would back off of her. #LeaveLisaAlone

Her record got a lot more moderate after she won that race.

Alaska Republicans are factional.  Murkowski represents the old elite (she was literally handed the seat by nepotism), people like Sullivan represent new blood. This is a broad tent thing - opponents can be quasi-libertarians like Joe Miller, standard conservatives like both Sullivans or cross-idealogical populists like Palin 1.0 or Walker.

For what it's worth, there were two congressmen named Mike Rogers in the House not too long ago.

Her record got a lot more moderate after she won that race.

She's also something of a dynastic/machine candidate and will for that reason face perennial opposition.
