99+% of Americans have no clue Turks and Armenians have any kind of beef. The idea that they would have any opinion on Ottoman Empire policies is amusing.

There is nothing "snobbish" about stating a fact. If you weren't clear or you were misunderstood just explain your point of view.
FYI I count myself mostly in the 99%. I knew there was a controversy but I was unaware of the all the details. I don't have an opinion about what the president should do.
