First jfern, now SillyAmerican. I don't see what it is about Hillary Clinton that attracts the hatred of fake independents in California so much. No wonder Bernie has a chance of winning it...

Green avatars in general aren't good.

I feel like some jackass hipster for having one of those lime green avatars too, as I never vote for Republicans and only vote for D's, Is, and G's, but I couldn't bring myself to choose either D (they are too corporate/crony capitalist generally speaking with several exceptions) or G (they are too kooky/drum circle hippies and a little too far left).

So I think independent is genuinely accurate for my ID, even though I'm obviously what political scientists call a fake independent.

You are my probably my favorite poster on this forum, but that's kind of rich of someone with an orange avatar to say (who I assume doesn't belong to the American freedom party or the justice party).

Fair enough; I suppose that was a bit hypocritical.

My favorite thing about SillyAmerican is he once argued that Donald Trump could attack Hillary over Birtherism to make inroads amongst the black vote.

Yes, Donald Trump. The biggest advocate for Birtherism in America at one point.

Didn't Bernie actually do well among Greek Americans? Pretty funny.

Indeed. This is the type of identification problem that has made it tough for pollsters who try to model based on the D/R/I turnouts. Thirty years ago this wasn't an issue and a person who never voted for Pubs would identify as a Dem. Period. Even many who would only vote rarely for a Pub would still identify as Dems, eg. Reagan Democrats.

The trend for the last twenty years has been for increasing disaffection for the parties as organizations, so voters claim independence. Detailed studies show that like Raphael says a great many of them aren't really independent in their choices, just in their affinity for a party.

I can't even process that.
