Man, he really isn't getting the memo from Reince, is he?

Unless he wants to be a Libertarian Senator, in which case...

I've never been a fan of Sasse, but I have to respect that he's taking a stand, rather than just being brought to heel.

An endorsement from a current U.S. Senator would be just the sort of leg up Johnson needs to have a real shot of hitting 5%.

Or this is just him fighting for what he believes in and not caring if it hurts his career.
Anyway, I'll probably end up supporting whoever Sasse does. Major FF.

No but seriously though, why has the very junior senator from Nebraska been getting so much attention?

He's the only incumbent senator to say he won't vote for TRUMP, though a few others have completely dodged the question.

Sasse seems to be a genuinely honest guy.

Sassehole would be bitching up a storm if Johnson was polling at 1% against Rubio. He's a hypocrite.

Sasse liked government healthcare when Bush did it and thought it was a tragedy when Obama did it. There is not an ounce of genuine in Sasse's bones.

and yes, I read his incoherent facebook post about how Americans, when given the choice, rejected conservative values, so there must be demand for conservative values!

Hopefully, it will enter the public consciousness that Johnson is the candidate for disgruntled right-wingers and not the candidate for disgruntled centrists.

Only a few Republicans are going to be left unscathed after the 2016 election. The litmus test in 2020 will be: did you endorse Trump in 2016? I bet that those that refused will have a leg up in 2020.

He's been fairly public about his reluctance to have his brain scooped out and replaced with Trump-branded "pudding", even if all the other cool kids are doing it.

Massive FF. Probably a favorite for my vote in 2020, tbh.

Sassehole would be bitching up a storm if Johnson was polling at 1% against Rubio. He's a hypocrite.

How does that make him a hypocrite? There's no incoherency in thinking Rubio > Johnson > Trump, and anybody would be upset about someone playing spoiler for their candidate.

I would be bitching up a storm if Johnson was polling 1% against Rubio too.

Hopefully, it will enter the public consciousness that Johnson is the candidate for disgruntled right-wingers and not the candidate for disgruntled centrists.

Considering he believes Rubio was someone who was in line with his values and an actual Republican, no, it doesn't make him a hypocrite.

What a hypocrite, LMAO. Guess you can write him off for the 2020 election. It seems he doesn't know the meaning of the term "never".

Whatever percent of normally Republican general-election voters ends up backing Hillary (and I don't think that percent will be large), the constituency of Hillary-backers will not be a particularly significant one during the 2020 primaries and it's also not going to be one that is profoundly offended by a Johnson-endorsing candidate, especially if there is just one in a sea of people trying to justify why they supported Trump four years ago.

When Trump is thrashed in November, what remains of the Republican Party will not look kindly on the Vichy-Republicans.

I hope you're right, but you've gotta be able to see that no one will see Sasse as one of them. Literally zero people.
