Seriously, the internet is creating levels of illusion not seen before on both wings. The bubble is strong in 2016. Sure, you could argue that loons have always existed on both sides and that the internet is only making them more visible than they used to be, but I think the fact that the Republicans just nominated Trump is evidence to the contrary.

Yeah, I remember back when it became clear about a year or so ago that Sanders would become the "internet/Reddit candidate", I pondered whether or not they'd be like the Paulbots in 2012 who were 100% convinced he'd be the nominee up until the day of the convention, despite winning nothing besides the Virgin Islands. Back then, I figured they wouldn't be since I thought the left would be more reality based than libertarians. But I was dead wrong, they might be even worse. I guess it doesn't help matters that on Reddit many of Bernie's supporters actually WERE those same Paulbots. That also explains why he is now Satan incarnate in their eyes, they didn't really have much loyalty to him to begin with, he was just their generic messiah that they clung to solely out of hatred for Hillary and muh anti-establishment, it had little to do with his policies or goals. Sad!

They support Trump because all the PUMA sites got co-opted by right-wingers in the later days of 08. They also supported Romney, and would've supported Cruz, Carson, or any bag of poop with an R after its name if it won the nomination.
