but defenders need to take reducing single parent childrearing arrangements more seriously given the massive evidence that it is harmful to children.
Has any of that "evidence" accounted for the fact that many single parents got pregnant when they weren't ready and had the other person run off, forcing someone who to raise a child they didn't want and weren't prepared to have to provide for(working class parents having to take so many jobs that they can't see their kids, etc.) alone, and having to deal with the crushing anxiety of it. Because that's not what all single parent households are like. And the amount of single parent households(etc.) not like that would likely be much higher if it wasn't for the fact that our culture doesn't consider it an option, so people who are in healthy situations don't consider it. Not to mention that the damage of divorce probably comes more from the cause of the divorce then the action itself.
