but defenders need to take reducing single parent childrearing arrangements more seriously given the massive evidence that it is harmful to children.

Has any of that "evidence" accounted for the fact that many single parents got pregnant when they weren't ready and had the other person run off, forcing someone who to raise a child they didn't want and weren't prepared to have to provide for(working class parents having to take so many jobs that they can't see their kids, etc.) alone, and having to deal with the crushing anxiety of it. Because that's not what all single parent households are like. And the amount of single parent households(etc.) not like that would likely be much higher if it wasn't for the fact that our culture doesn't consider it an option, so people who are in healthy situations don't consider it. Not to mention that the damage of divorce probably comes more from the cause of the divorce then the action itself.

All divorce is horrible divorce.  But, no-fault divorce has created the idea in our culture that marriage doesn't have to be permanent.  This has led to less commitment on the part of spouses and the decline in family values.  We need to stop with this culture that accepts one-night stands, casual sex, and divorce without a valid reason!!

Yep this is spot on I agree

Divorce is something that I'd rather minimize if possible, but it should certainly be allowed. FD.

If it reduces domestic violence, who in their right mind would want to outlaw it?
