VPs that would get my vote.

2004: John Edwards
1996: Al Gore
1984: Geraldine Ferraro
1968: Edmund Muskie
1960: Henry Cabot Lodge
1944: Probably John Bricker
1900: Teddy Roosevelt

Tim Kaine would more than likely make this 8 for 30.

Well, let me think...

2008: McCain/Biden
1996: Clinton/Kemp
1992: Bush/Gore
1988: Bush/Bentsen
1960: Kennedy/Lodge
1940: Roosevelt/McNary

So 6, I guess. FWIW, many of these have more to do with disliking one running mate than they do with liking the other one.

1940: Charles McNary (R-OR)
1944: John W. Bricker  (R-OH) (Without hindsight)
2008: Joseph R. Biden (D-DE)
2012: Joseph R. Biden (D-DE)

Possible other votes would be for Muskie, Bentsen, and Gore (1992). I like Agnew as a character, Quayle is somewhat sympathetic, and I'd be concerned about Bentsen and Gore on abortion.

Without hindsight

1912: Teddy Roosevelt/ Nicholas Butler
1916: Woodrow Wilson/ Charles Fairbanks
1940: FDR/ Charles McNary
1976: Jimmy Carter/ Bob Dole
1992: George Bush/ Al Gore
1996: Bill Clinton/ Jack Kemp
2004: George Bush/ Abstain

Without hindsight that makes that 7

With hindsight 1912,1916,1940, 1996 would still be on there, 1976 would become Ford/Dole, 1992 would become Clinton/Gore, 2004- Abstain/Abstain

and I would add three
1968: Nixon/Muskie
1988: George Bush/Lloyd Bentsen
2000: George Bush/ Joe Lieberman

So 7 either way

Haha imagine if an Obama/Palin existed. What possible views could result in that?

As for me:

1900: Bryan/Roosevelt
1912: Roosevelt/Marshall
1972: Nixon/Shriver

That seems to be it. I generally seem to like most of the VP picks of my POTUS picks.

Five times:

1900: Bryan/Roosevelt (Teddy is more interesting)
1912: Wilson/Johnson (Johnson is more progressive than Marshall)
1932: Roosevelt/Curtis (Love FDR, Garner was a southern racist)
1936: Roosevelt/Knox (see 1932)
1948: Truman/Warren (Warren is a better choice though Barkley wasn't bad)

Would have supported the Green VP instead of Lieberman in 2000, that's for sure.
Otherwise straight D all the way back to 1952 (rather abstain than vote for a segregationist), and then for Republican VPs over Garner.

Haha, I strongly considered that! 2008 may be my favorite collection of four people on two tickets ever! Ultimately, Biden is too strong in hindsight.

1920: Harding/FDR
1924: LaFollette/Dawes
1936: FDR/Knox or third party (George Nelson?)
1948: Truman/Earl Warren

5 1/2

(the half being 1980 - definitely Mondale, but maybe Anderson instead of Carter)

I don't see myself changing tickets soley for the VP but here are the two that come to mind (and I still wouldn't switch). I'd take Kefauver over Nixon as Ike's VP in 56 and whoever the Green VP candidate was instead of Lieberman for Gore 00.
