Without hindsight

1912: Teddy Roosevelt/ Nicholas Butler
1916: Woodrow Wilson/ Charles Fairbanks
1940: FDR/ Charles McNary
1976: Jimmy Carter/ Bob Dole
1992: George Bush/ Al Gore
1996: Bill Clinton/ Jack Kemp
2004: George Bush/ Abstain

Without hindsight that makes that 7

With hindsight 1912,1916,1940, 1996 would still be on there, 1976 would become Ford/Dole, 1992 would become Clinton/Gore, 2004- Abstain/Abstain

and I would add three
1968: Nixon/Muskie
1988: George Bush/Lloyd Bentsen
2000: George Bush/ Joe Lieberman

So 7 either way
