1940: Charles McNary (R-OR)
1944: John W. Bricker  (R-OH) (Without hindsight)
2008: Joseph R. Biden (D-DE)
2012: Joseph R. Biden (D-DE)

Possible other votes would be for Muskie, Bentsen, and Gore (1992). I like Agnew as a character, Quayle is somewhat sympathetic, and I'd be concerned about Bentsen and Gore on abortion.
