Calling California for Clinton. Congrats. She had already won the nomination earlier when Bernie couldn't get above 70. Now she's won the state.

Only you were tracking the possibility of him getting above 70...

Any tyt update? I can't watch now.

Cenk just said Hillary won the nomination and it wasn't a rigged conspiracy in a smoke filled room but the media is biased, some dude with a horrible beard said Sanders people aren't going to continue their newfound participation in politics unless the Democrats start running genuinely progressive candidates across the board - many are struggling with student loan debt....

Probably would help if they stopped giving $50-100+ a week to a dying campaign.

Looking at counties that have a significant amount of precincts reporting in CA, not just early vote, Hillary is doing very well as compared to her '08 margins.  I don't she how she loses, and it's very likely it'll be much more than the 2 point margin we saw in 37 polls (although that's not totally fair, as declaring Clinton the nominee yesterday could very well have affected things).

Finally, it's over. Hopefully Bernie's supporters are gracious in defeat. I've been a Sanders supporter throughout this primary, but Clinton has won. Unless she ends up in an orange jumpsuit in less than a month, the superdelegates are going to retain their endorsements and she'll be the nominee.

I think the best possible option is for him to push for a more progressive party platform, something to accommodate the interests of the tens of millions of voters who voted for Sanders in the primary. And I think if Clinton can accept those interests and look like the more mature candidate against the raging orangutan Trump, she'll have this in the bag in November.

So count me out of the #BernieOrBust crowd, because your favorite doesn't always win, and sometimes you just need to settle for what's better.

As for November, I'll settle for either Clinton or Johnson. I can't see myself voting for Jill Stein at all because of her anti-vax and homeopathy nonsense. If Bernie decides to screw it all and run as an independent, I'll consider that too.

Mathematically it was still possible for him to win the nomination. Now it is not.

Yeah, these aren't just early results.  More than half of Sacramento is in and she's winning that 63%-35%.  Hillary won California.

Part of the problem with VbM states is that there are precinct declarations based upon estimated numbers on early turnout that doesn't represent total voting numbers. Seen it many times in Oregon and similar states....

Keep calm and carry on...

I like the little Sanders belt in New Mexico. Tongue

So, the Southeast has a black belt and the Southwest a white belt? Tongue

I meant to respond to this sooner, but Socorro is almost half Latino, so I don't think that's the case. Tongue

This is getting stupid. Either call South Dakota or fix your damn count. They must've sent the C listers out to do their election maps/calls tonight.

Where are people getting the Clinton surge in Montana from? According to NYT, she's still only up by about 900 votes.

You should be angry with RI and WV. At least SD is contiguous

Why do people not like that SD went for Clinton for map reasons? It's still contiguous.

It's all right and this is typical for vote-by-mail states where the ballots that are counted are the first ones through the mail box.

Bernie was only winning Oregon by 5% at the end of election night and is now a 15% win, although it took a few days (and even weeks).

Basically in Cali, those that vote early with VbM are heavily older voters (55+) and higher-income voters, and a huge chunk of voters do it at the last minute (Including putting a stamp on your mail in ballot) or voting directly from voting machines.

Keep Calm and Carry On.

It's over man. We were too cautious. She will win in places we weren't even expecting.

Maybe.... maps looks ugly now based upon early votes, and either voter turnout is higher and early votes vs late votes is going to split dramatically based upon '08 total turnout in key places like the Bay Area or.... is going to be a total wipeout once SoCal starts to kick in.

I'm not angry at WV. I thank them for not staining our nominee with their presence. Smiley
