I somehow just heard "Friday i'm love" by the Cure for the first time a few hours ago.  It's the kind of jangly power pop that's right up my thoroughly musically plebeian alley.

The song is a bordeline cutesy-happy ode to the joy of Friday/the weekend as a brief respite from the sh**ttiness of life exploiting the convenience of also simultaneously doing a love song (sung by a decidedly UN-CUTESY British man), but the thing that really gets me about the song is that despite the fact that the song is otherwise so happy, the winding new wave guitar riff adds what seems like a really bittersweet tinge to me, though I can't quite put my finger on how so.
Have you listened to anything else by the Cure?

I haven't.  Any recommendations?

Start with their first album "Three Imaginary Boys" and keep going in order from there.

"You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)" by the Beatles

Truly an intellectual masterpiece. I have both jokingly and completely seriously called it the best song of all time. I suggest you all listen to it many times

Lova by Bijelo Dugme

Been going through every country and listening to one song each - a worthy exercise. This Bosnian band is a treasure!

Bob Dylan live at Desert Trip/Oldchella, via Periscope since there is no official live stream or SiriusXM coverage.

He's playing a mix of mostly old songs along with some of his later hits, and he is playing them as they are known to the general public and not fanatics like me. He's going to tour on this set, I'm so glad I've got tickets to see him again!
