Not really. I'm a bit surprised she won Alameda, but I imagine there's a pretty stark divide between the Berkeley area and Oakland.

I doubt the difference is that stark.

A little, but I'm more surprised that he lost Marin County.

I'm not surprised.  San Francisco's Democratic establishment is no less in the tank for Hillary than the rest of the Democratic Party.

Including over 3 million more Democratic voters?

Only in Sanders "Science" is earning more votes a sign of corruption and considered a bad thing.

Not even a little.

Do we know who won Haight-Ashbury though?

Berkeley is more white, that's difference enough.

I wonder. I'd like to see a precinct-level map/details when all the votes are counted. The margin in Alameda is much tighter than surrounding Bay Area counties. I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton had a modest victory in Oakland and Sanders had a more comfortable victory in Berkeley.

Do we know who won Haight-Ashbury though?

I can make one guess, and that's probably all I'd need. Tongue

Sanders supporters are typically young, straight, white, middle-class people... people who, if in San Francisco, are either commuters or tourists. They do not live in San Francisco, and thus they vote elsewhere.

I bit surprised initially, especially that it wasn't a bit closer, but it does make sense when looking at the "income gap", and the City was starting to change significantly (gentirfy) when I was living out in South Bay about five years ago... fleets of buses stopping at all of the Tech companies in Silicon Valley to take commuters up to SFC where many employees were increasingly moving to, Twitter setting up shop in the City, etc...

I figured it would go for Clinton. Clinton has performed well in professional class wealthy Democratic bastions.
