Update #1: The Race for Nyman!

Huge news coming from the Secretary of Federal Elections today, as he announced the results of the House of Representatives Election. He declared that five Federalists {ClarkKent, Classic Conservative, Republitarian, Haslam2020, and JohanusCalvinusLibertas) have been elected, while only four Laborites (Cxs018, NeverAgain, dkrolga, and Darthebearnc) have been elected. This is big news combined with the fact that we can likely project that the Federalists will also likely control the Senate. Either way, this is worrying news for an already war-weary Labor Party.

This isn't the only news coming out of the political front, as Senator Leinad and Senator Truman are now baring their teeth in what could become one of the fiercest and most interesting elections in Atlasian history. Senator Truman, who was the presiding officer at the Constitutional Convention, is now faced against his own deputy and Conservative icon, Leinad. Both candidates have picked their Vice Presidential nominees which have shocked the political community, especially on the Labor side with the choice of former VP and long-time Atlasian, Kalwejt. The Federalist side also received mixed  reactions to the choice of Lumine as Leinad's VP. Lumine, a Civic Renewalist, has been heralded by some as an experienced legislator and executive, but to some, he is a polarizing figure.

Needless to say, this election will likely be a close one so every vote will count. We here at the Atlasian Update wish both Senator Leinad/Fmr. President Lumine and Senator Truman/Fmr. VP Kalwejt luck in this very interesting process.

Nice to see another newspaper here!

But that red/blue color scheme is so BORING compared to orangered for Federalists and maroon for Labor.

And lastly, it's odd for me to be referred to as a "conservative icon."  Tongue

In my experience, most everyone for whom Lumine is controversial, is/was rather extreme (TNF) or a partisan, and the reason for such was disdain for his moderate temperament and style. Tongue

I forgot the colors! Thanks for reminding me. Also I got to 'spice it up'.

Gotcha. I'll try and reflect that in the future.

I believe his party gets to appoint his successor, just as Labor will get to when cxs018 wins a Senate seat.

Update #2: Tradegy Strikes.

Tragedic news from Orlando with the news that 50 people were shot and killed at an LGBT nightclub yesterday. News is still coming in, but what we do know is that it was a hate-crime against members of the LGBT community made by a man named 'Omar Mateen'. He is believed to have been angered at the affection of two gay men in public and took his rage out on over a hundred innocent lives.

The shooter is believed to be Muslim and had sworn his allegiance to ISIS and al-Baghdadi minutes before his act was committed. We will attempt to keep you updated with what we know, but no doubt this will affect Atlasia's Presidential Campaign in numerous ways.
