I enjoy going to political rallies usually, even if I don't like the candidate. Trump had a rally here in Richmond last night, and it was really boring. I'm a bit disappointed because we had a water bottle of vodka and thought that clearly a Trump rally would be amusing. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I did think it would be fun.

The atmosphere was not that festive. I got there way early so I didn't see an vocal protesters outside, although I know some showed up later. Lots of cops. The event organizer was planning for 10K people but it couldn't have been more than 1.5K. Other than a guy in a trump wig, some jackass dressed up like George Washington and some guys outside selling shirts with Hillary and Monica Lewinsky on them, there weren't even any interesting people. I think I counted maybe 2 dozen minorities at most, almost all Asian. A few hill people showed up as well. Trump was late. The introductory speech by the gubernatorial candidate was forgettable. The empty arena really made Trump's entry to a very loud rendition of "Get ready for this" seem foolish. He spent like 20 minutes telling some uninteresting anecdote about Bobby Knight. We left 40 minutes into the speech because he hadn't said anything about politics except that Hillary was a crook and also that Hillary was a criminal. No mention of a wall. No protesters got in.

Other than the people watching part, I don't think it was entertaining enough to get me to go to another. 1 Star out of 4 and kind of feel robbed of my Friday.

One thing I noticed when I went to a Trump rally was that he really lets the crowd influence his speech. So if you had yelled "TALK ABOUT THE WALL" he probably would have gone off on a five minute rant about it. If you've got an obedient and boring crowd you'll have a (relatively) boring Trump.

And yeah, when I went I didn't see many minorities either. I counted 5 blacks out of seven or eight thousand and 2 were removed as protestors.

I saw Bob Dylan 20 years ago, no minorities at all.

Supposedly there's a large crowd in Florida for his rally at 11.

Corey Stewart Yes. We were led to believe we might meet Trump and if we had I probably would have brown-handed him, but we never got the opportunity

Seems like his PA rally was busy too but Trump says VA was planned the night before and that's why it wasn't busy

His FL rally was MUCH better. Looks like VA is truly a depressing state.

More proof VA is safer D than Vermont.

Trump rallies don't sound like my thing. Listening to some guy with Oompa Loompa skin and a blond wig talk about some famous people, then rant about how he's going to build a wall? While a drum circle protests outside?

Pretty much. I was drunk enough when it started that I apparently booed Trump at various points, but because of the lack of attendees we sat alone and no one threatened me.

I saw him at the Sunshine State Summit and it was a blast; my Aunt's mother-in-law and her daughter went to see Trump in Charleston, WV, and felt the same as you do, however-literally, all he talked about was Bobby Knight.
