We should establish a rule that write-in votes for someone shall be declared invalid unless that person has said at least 12 hours prior to the opening of the vote that they will accept the write-ins.

As of right now Siren is an invalid write in choice so prior to de-registering Sestak was winning handily, so that doesn't correct this situation.

Yes, but technically Siren could accept the votes in the middle of the election, which might be why voters are voting as they are: the even Siren we’re to accept (Siren doesn’t seem likely to do that; just making a quick point). Maybe if there were a rule on when write-ins would be cut off, some wouldn’t vote for write-ins if their vote has absolutely 0% chance of being counted.
