This is pretty straightforward. I voted 'strongly disapprove'.

Don't care.  I've never seen evidence that US Passports have GPS.  I know the GPS on my phone eats the battery.  No way my passport has a power source that can sustain GPS for years without charging.

How big is your passport?  Does it look like a car battery?

Does this include putting it in one of those RFID blocking sleeves Alex Jones sells so that you can take your government documents "off grid" with you?

As already pointed out, it's RFID, not GPS. At worst, the government might be able to track you as you go thru the lines at the airport, and certainly not everywhere you go. An aluminum foil coated sleeve is sufficient to stop it if you're paranoid. Furthermore, I think y'all are likely misinterpreting, and in some cases deliberately, what is meant by illegal tampering here. Making the chip inactive shouldn't get you prison time, and I challenge anyone to produce an example of that. Tampering with the chip so it gives out false data should be a crime.

It's an RFID chip. It can be read from a few feet away by scanners at airports, customs and border check-points. It can't be tracked from just anywhere.

I'd love to believe that the US Government had designed something the better part of a decade ago that could run on its own internal power for 10 years, broadcast a strong enough signal to be picked up by satellites and that is smaller than a fingernail. Maybe they have, but I doubt it's been implanted into millions upon millions of of U.S. passports.

Since no such devices exist, none can be disabled. Cannot be more straightforward than that.

BTW, is it legal to shoot flying crocodiles?

All tinfoil should be equipped with GPS to track those who wear hats of foil.
