The Constitution makes no provision for who should get this ball rolling. I had figured the Vice PResident as President of Congress is the natural one to administer the first Speaker election, but regardless with all 9 seats filled, and the House already delayed over two weeks, we should not sit around waiting for someone to say go, we should get started immediately.

Representatives have 24 hours to declare/nominate candidacies for Speaker.

I can administer if I need to. Granted I don't know the rules but as usual I'll just make them up as I go.

I'll run so I can get all/some of the four Labor votes and then angrily concede.

I'll run for Speaker. I've already served as Speaker of the Senate for ~2 months, so I'd say I have the most relevant experience here.

I second Classic's endorsement of Clark. Steady leadership needs to be had as we open a new chapter in Atlasian history.

Not sure what the hold up is, but many are eager to get started so I will go ahead and start the vote myself and let Duke close it. It is a tactic I use to use in PPT elections sometimes when the VP was unreachable on an immediate basis.

Representatives, a vote is now open on the Speakership of the House of Representatives and will last 72 hours, or until a majority of the membership has been reached.

Once this gets finalized and Clark becomes Speaker, I would recommend opening a separate Legislation Introduction thread for the House to make things clearer.

I want to bump this, as I intend to run for Speaker to reflect the new make-up of our Congress.
