It's really sad for America that we have a Presidential candidate that is seriously in the conversation as potentially being worse than George "100,000s dead, millions snooped on, billions of livelihoods destroyed*, trillions of dollars wasted in a pointless war that ballooned the deficit, all international political capital squandered" Bush.

I HATE Reagan, but I'd donate one of my balls to have had him instead of Bush from 2000-2008.

Bush has permanently innoculated me to the nice guy argument - yeah, he was a sweet, cool guy, but he was also a total abomination as President.  So now I don't really heavily weigh the extent to which Presidential candidates are assholes unless it has a direct political impact (there are some ways that Trump is an asshole that do obviously have huge political impact).

*To be fair, Clinton and Congress deserve a lot of blame for this item, too
