The Historic Hudson Happenings Thread

Yes, I know, I have been remiss in not keeping you all sufficiently updated, and no doubt the withdrawal symptoms from your Hudson fix have been excruciating, but your long personal nightmare is now over. This thread is here to the rescue!

Things are picking up in Hudson now, with big news coming in a couple of days, entailing something in the works of which so many of us Atlasians can only fantasize about. But for now, on the lighter side, we visit the best part of the best city in America, Robinson Street.

The film King Jack is now available for your viewing pleasure, most of which was filmed in Hudson (with most in the part of Hudson the local white gentry most certainly does not frequent much less live in, but rather the part which just exudes raw, untamed energy, without the slightest regard for respectability - you know, BRTD's kind of hood).

Below, are three screen shots of Robinson Street  from the film. In the first, one can see under construction in the upper right corner, one of the buildings that I was renovating, now adorned with my new windows made in Mexico at a plant that I own in partnership with my Hispanic friend, Guillermo, and trucked from Tijuana to Hudson by Guillermo and my partner Dan. The facade facing the street is painted red, while the side remains still unpainted in raw wood. The second and third shots are graced with our car (a Kia Sorrento). In the third shot, one can see the NY license plate on it, which was affixed over our CA plate at the time, for the sake of verisimilitude.

I’m back!   Enjoy an aerial journey of my world (the first segment of the video is the area immediately north of our house, which Dan and I consider sort of the functional equivalent of our personal park, where we perambulate holding hands savoring such a glorious spot on this planet. Alas no, and no such names appear on the list of registered voters in Hudson.

Some action across the alley from my abode on State Street. I had been trying to get the police chief and code enforcement officer to red tag the buildings, and now it has happened, as a byproduct of the shooting incident and beating. The father of the chap has had several tours of duty in jail. Danny from his work place upstairs has a view of the junk yard that is the back yard of the abode, which has also been cited. At least Danny will not have to endure for awhile the guy shrieking at his girl friend and her kids, which he did on an almost daily basis.

Sure, the glory of the name generated by the first town so graced with it in 1785 spills over to others so blessed with the name. We have Hudson, Maine, and Hudson, Ohio too.

Rogerson's Hardware store is just so Hudson. The proprietor is a lawyer (and a very good one), but his hardware store is his real passion. His income from it is psychic rather than pecuniary.
