"I will be meeting with the NRA, who has endorsed me, about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list, or the no fly list, to buy guns."

That puts him really at odds with his party and his base. But I'll give credit where credit's due. Good move, Trump.

I cannot argue with that.

I am surprised he doesn't propose banning Muslims from owning guns.

Now that would be interesting to see the reaction to, from both left and right.

Finally, I agree with the Trumpster. But in gun control as a whole, he’s very weak.

I'm with him on this one.  Seems like common sense.  Interesting though that he thinks the NRA is really going to give a rat's a** what he thinks.  They know they only have to deal with him for another 5 months.

This is Trump, he's just saying things. He has no idea what he wants or believes.

I would love to see Wayne LaPierre heel to the Donald, but sadly I think Trump will just change his position and this will be forgotten after a week or so.

He actually qualified the statement by saying no guns for enemies of the state, whatever that means is up to him

It's just a question of how long it takes the Oath Keepers and Militia Types to turn on the Donald once he takes office. I suspect it'll take less than a year, about the same amount of time it would take the TYT crowd to turn on Sanders.

I'm a little surprised the attacks haven't helped Trump more, tbh. Some in the LGBT community now have a reason to support him. And now he's taken away one of the Dems' best talking points. Maybe we'll see him rise in the polls in the next couple of weeks.

This is good. However, it obviously runs completely counter to everything he has previously said about guns.

If you're upset by this, don't worry. He'll probably change his stance by tomorrow.

Honestly, why even report on his policy "positions" at this point. He doesnt have any!

A sensible position, but it's unclear who Trump is attempting to appeal to. This will piss off more conservatives than liberals/moderates it will impress.

So can Hillary take credit for this? Since apparently Trump took credit for getting her to say "radical Islamic terror."

Time for LaPierre to stand up like he has so many times in the past and rescind the NRA's endorsement for Trump.

Anyway, horrible move, another reason for me to despise Trump, etc. etc.

About what, the NRA endorsement getting rescinded? I doubt it'll happen but there's a chance if Trump sticks his foot deep enough in his throat

It's amazing that there are people who actually think people on terrorist watch lists should be allowed to buy guns

This is basically the same thing.  Who do you think will be on a terror watch list in a Trump administration?
