This guy went from moderate hero to old man yelling at cloud. He's hitched his wagon with a candidate who said no POW is a hero. Talk about gutless. Now, he's blaming Obama for the senseless mass murder.

Hey, John. You do remember it was President Bush who brought us to Iraq. Oh, and John, you also do remember you accept more money from the NRA than almost any person in Washington DC. Oh, and John, your party is the one that wants to allow people on terrorist watch lists to get guns.

Well, he clarified himself later.  He's getting old and confused, cut him some slack!

Obama's policies are only indirectly responsible, just as the Republicans are as well.

It's Obama's fault when it rains, and I personally blame him for the fact that the Red Wings suck. Go Ann Kirkpatrick.

TBH, Obama is somewhat responsible for this. Probably about as responsible as ISIS.

John McCain remains one of the worst people in politics.  Don't forget:

"I don't want to permit that opportunity to happen and I'll tell you why. You go up to Bethesda Naval Hospital, Marines are up there with no legs, none. You've got Marines at Walter Reed with no limbs." -- Sen. John McCain, at the conclusion of the Senate's debate on a measure to repeal the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy of the U.S. military, Dec 2010.

Yes, here is a man who led the filibuster against repealing DADT for the above stated entirely incomprehensible reason; the man who made himself a champion of campaign finance reform simply to distract from his role in campaign finance scandals; the man who made the "honorable" decision not to target Obama on racially motivated grounds yet still picked a running mate who had the audacity to suggest that Obama was "palling around with terrorists."

Never forget - John McCain is scum.

He's wrong, but no more wrong the NY Times when it said Republicans were directly to blame for the shooting.

Judging from his asinine comments like this and Trump butt kissing...Kelli Ward might do it first.

I'd be willing to trade the Senate majority just to see McCain and Rubio (assuming he runs) lose.

From what I understand watching and reading the news, the shooter was grasping at whatever allegiances he could to "justify" the atrocious killing, citing ISIS, al Qaeda, jihad in general, whatever.  So McCain really shouldn't be trying to make a rim shot off the killing; another sign of his ever-deepening bitterness.

Having said that, both attacking Iraq and backing the al Maliki government were terrible decisions that have brought about no end of disasters.

Honestly, I'd rather McCain loses the GE than Ward loses the GE. If Ward primaries McCain and loses to Kirkpatrick, we'll have to deal with all the Moderate Heroes™ going on about how McCain could have won.

Really sad to see McCain deteriorate from a man with principles to a salty, hackish, blind partisan.

His reputation as a "man with principles" was always grossly exaggerated. He was quite good at self-promoting his "maverick" image, while being essentially a generic Republican on all major issues.

This is true, but he always pivots to the right when he is up for reelection. Remember how nasty he got with Obama in 2009 during that meeting over healthcare, and Obama had to flat out say "you lost, John."

McCain is also responsible for the mass murder of millions of Iraqis killed before and after the invasion because of our aerial bombardment of Iraq, our blockade of medical supplies, our insane policies to disband the Iraqi army and install the Maliki government, and our equally stupid (McCain supported) opposition to the Assad regime in Syria which gave rise to ISIS.

Obama isn't "directly responsible" for ISIS, but McCain and the policies that he ran on eight years ago certainly are.

Yeah, BUT he's opposed to torture. So he's totally a moderate.

John McCain is tough on drugs.  But his original foray into politics was financed by booze money, so he's totally a moderate!
