Communism is not a "dangerous" ideology, at least not enough that blacklisting people is worth it. Personally, I have friends who are vocal communists and I don't want them to be persecuted.

While I agree that blacklisting is probably unnecessary, Communism is an inherently dangerous ideology rooted in violence. Communism assumes and advocates for wide-scale violence against lots and lots of innocent people.

Lean FF. The problem of communist infiltration into the American government and widespread spying was a very real one during WW2 and the immediate post-war period, and it needed attention brought to it; that said, the methods McCarthy used were unhelpful and frequently reprehensible. He could've been a great figure, and he ended up vilified purely because of his own mistakes and faults.

Resemblance is superficial. McCarthy's features are Irish and masculine. While Joe's hardly fat-free, Cruz's features are primarily squishy and prissy. I believe their voices have similar differences.
