Does anybody think Donald Trump is running in the GOP to purposely sabotage the party and cut deals to get Hillary in office?

Aside from the overall absurdity of this idea, I have a hard time believing that, as a plant, he would viciously attack Clinton on any and everything from past and present. Why soften her up like that? If the goal is to throw the election, there is no need to go at her like this.

Other than that, I do admit that Trump is so effectively tarnishing the GOP brand and ruining his position in the race that it does almost seem like he planned this and is executing with surgical precision. Still, though. I think Trump is just that dumb and reckless, and not part of some plan.

I think Donald Trump is, in human form, what the GOP stands for.

I honestly still have a hard time believing that he is real. Part of me really believes he is a plant.

LOL no. Jeb was Hillary's preferred opponent. Whereas Trump, like him or hate him, will always fight back.

Possibly, but most likely not.

I have a new theory, namely that Donald is treating the whole election as a joke and is just curious to see how far he can take his absurdity.

Why should Trump waste his time helping a friend and get nothing out of it? I know he's a great guy, but that would be a lot of time not running his billion dollar empire. He needs to rehash the 90s scandals to bring people into his soon-to-be-launched news network. Crooked Hillary doesn't take it personally. We New Yorkers know how to rip on each other - the rest of America just thinks we actually mean it.

Not a Democratic plant, more like poison ivy or lily of the valley.

I feel like in early 2015 Bill Clinton made two phone calls, one to Donald Trump and one to Bernie Sanders. He told them 'look, we gotta make this Hillary presidency thing look like it wasn't a cake-walk, we gotta make it look like it was hard. So both of you guys, run for President, but try your best not to actually win. Got it? Good.'

Substitute Jeb for Cruz and I agree.

Not a Democratic plant, but possibly a Democrat.

Why? Because he's liberal on social issues like gay marriage? I agree that he was some appeal to a small number Democrats, but I wouldn't say he's a Democrat. He's also not a real Republican as we know it. TRUMP is just TRUMP.

Used to have a theory that his campaign was a God-tiered troll job on an Andy Kaufman level, but realized only the American electoral process could produce something as genuinely absurd as this.
