Walk back the racism.

Attack Hillary hard on all her support for TPP and NAFTA and flip flops to try to claim she didn't. Attack her hard on H-1Bs and how they are racist for taking jobs away from blacks.

Attack Hillary hard on her reckless $2 trillion Iraq war for no reason, and her Syrian support of ISIS.

Go after the Clinton Foundation. Specifically the pay to play with Saudi Arabia, say that they are not out friends, and that the 9/11 report should be declassified.

Say you'd look into single payer healthcare, and would hold Wall Street accountable.

Say that gay marriage is settled.

In other words, fully abandon the Republican positions on most issues. However, for gun control say we should enforce existing laws before we look at new ones, and keep the Republican base from all revolting by promising to appoint Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Yes, that should be the strategy. Perhaps some Republican in the future can follow it. Can the racist facist Trump do it? No, no he cannot.

The racism is the core of his campaign and base support.

Attack Hillary hard on all her support for TPP and NAFTA and flip flops to try to claim she didn't. Attack her hard on H-1Bs and how they are racist for taking jobs away from blacks.

Hillary's going to say she's against TPP and that her position on NAFTA is very complex but basically she's against all the consequences Trump is attacking her for being for.  Then what does Trump have?  Saying she's not "really" against them?  If it's liar vs liar Trump loses.

Attack Hillary hard on her reckless $2 trillion Iraq war for no reason, and her Syrian support of ISIS.

Iraq War vote must be the most played-out attack in the history of politics.  Plus Trump was for the Iraq War too.

I'd love to see Trump accuse Hillary of supporting ISIS.  Of all the things you've listed that is the most Trump of them all.  You really are turning into Donald Trump jfern.

Go after the Clinton Foundation. Specifically the pay to play with Saudi Arabia, say that they are not out friends, and that the 9/11 report should be declassified.

He's already doing this.  Somehow I don't think repeating conspiracy theories from Clinton Cash ("5 stars, a must see" --jfern) is going to help his image as a serious candidate.

Wade.

So cripple enthusiasm in the Republican base, when you've already crippled enthusiasm in the establishment and center, to try to attract who exactly?

Racial resentment is the raison d'etre of Trump 2016. Walk that back and he has nothing left.

Yes. And that could prove to be a very effective strategy. (Well, all except the overturning of Roe; he's indicated the pool of people from which he'd nominate jusices to the high court, so he just needs to remind people of the fact that the court's makeup hangs in the balance).

The real underlying question is whether or not Trump can muster the discipline needed to run a substantive GE campaign. If he can, it will be a tough race for Clinton; if he can't (and thus far, he's given every indication that he can't/won't), he might as well be put in charge of the Hillary Clinton inauguration, for which he will be responsible.

Right, pivot on prolife and cave to gay marriage. Still waiting for the first republican win with this strategy.

There was no pivoting on abortion in this strategy. As for SSM, he already called out Kim Davis for not following the law.

I see, some people are trying to figure out a way to persuade themselves that a vote for Trump would no be too bad. Quite predictable.

In other words, Trump should lie and fake his way through this election so you can feel comfortable voting for him.

Someone needs to teach Trump to talk in code.  You don't say "Muslims," you say "evildoers around the world."  You don't say "blacks and Mexicans," you say "crime and drugs."

If I were advising Trump *urf!* I would advise him to code his racist speech *retch* and go after Hillary on all the things jfern suggests *runs to nearest wastebasket to hurl*.

On abortion, just STFU.

Are you asking who people believe will state their positions honestly? Because I can tell you for certain it 'aint Hillary Clinton. (And who said anything about Trump having to lie and fake his way through the election? Those positions are the ones that he should hold; it's a bit crazy to give a set of reasonable positions, ask if they should be supported by Trump, and then flip it. Crazy, but typical...).

Yes, you made some good points. But he should stay on the trade and border (meaning the wall) issues and his opposition to illegal immigration.

He should, however, made clear that he's in favor of legal immigration. He said that often, but the press rarely reports it because it doesn't help with ratings.

Literally every poll belies this assertion. I know you love Cruz, but Republicans are almost completely united around Trump now, aside from the Mormons. All they care about is the letter after the name, not the principles. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Trump could be focusing on anti-globalization, yes. However, that is way too wonky for him to actually take Hillary to task on. Trump's better off calling her crooked and praying for validation.

Last I checked, blacks were not dominating IT and "consulting" jobs.

Plus, Trump can't walk back the racism. The Democrats do nothing but pander along racial/identity lines, and Trump is the first Republican who is not ashamed to do the same. You have to fight fire with fire. After he gets elected, he can try to put the pieces back together, but you can't fight with one set of rules while the Democrats fight with another.
